Getting to Malaga by plane is possible from anywhere in Europe. Almost all European airlines maintain flight routes to Malaga. The Aeropuerto de Málaga-Pablo Picasso is the fourth busiest airport in Spain and was expanded in 2010 with an additional terminal.
Malaga offers sightseeing from Roman times to the present. The latest attraction added in 2015 is the Centre Pompidou de Málaga. A total of 70 works, on loan from its sister museum in Paris, can be seen. In addition, there are three changing exhibitions per year.
From the Arab period, you can explore the 11th-century Alcazaba fortress in Malaga. It is the second largest Moorish fortress in Andalusia. Together with the Gibralfaro Castle, these form a large complex in today’s city center. The biggest attraction of this complex is the old Roman theater at the foot of the Alcazaba.
The city can also claim two renowned museums: the Picasso Museum, in the artist’s birthplace, and the Thyssen Museum.
There are also some excellent and less known museums, such as the Glass and Crystal Museum (Museo de Vidrio y Cristal), the Automobile Museum of Malaga(Museo Automovilístico de Málaga) or the Museum of Art and Popular Customs (Museo de Artes y Costumbres Populares).
Walks are nice at the marina (Puerto Deportivo de Málaga) and the Botanical Garden (Jardin Botanico Historico La Concepcion).
