Advices and suggestions for choosing the right motorhome for your trip

You will find detailed information about the equipment of the vehicles in the technical data of the motorhomes. This brief guide should be understood as in addition and is the result of many customer consultations.

Permitted number of seats

The number of passengers must of course not exceed the permissible number of seats registered in the vehicle documents. For child seats, there are two seats with three-point seat belts in each model. If these seats have Isofix devices, this is noted in the technical data.

Beds

We make a difference between fixed beds, electric fold-down beds and seating groups that can be converted into beds.

Fixed beds are located in the rear and in the overcab motorhomes above the driver’s cabin. Both the lift beds and the converted seating groups are in the centre of the vehicle. Converting the seating groups takes only a few minutes. The resulting space offers room for two children or one adult. The lift beds offer space for one to two adults.

Garage

The size of the garage results from the height of the fixed beds in the rear. The garage is located below the beds. The higher the bed entrance height, the larger the garage. The models with a French bed have the smallest garage (capacity for bags, camping chairs, camping table). The garage is somewhat larger in the models with single beds (capacity for prams, small suitcases, folding bikes). The motorhomes with a rear bed, which is arranged across the entire width of the vehicle, offer the largest garage. Large suitcases, surfboards or bicycles also fit in here.

Driving, manoeuvring and parking

Regarding the characteristics of driving, manoeuvring and parking of the mobile homes, the following should be noted: the campers have an advantage over the semi-integrated and overcabs to their size. The disadvantage of the campers is the available space in the vehicle. Here the overcab is unbeatable, which is why families in particular prefer this type of campervan. The choice of the motorhome is therefore always a compromise between space or comfort and the size of the vehicle. Personal preferences, the planned itinerary and existing experience in travelling with a motorhome or camper also play a role.
